Girls Soccer Team Loses to Liberty
October 15, 2018
On Thursday, October 11th, Clark’s Girls Soccer team faced the Liberty Patriots in a conference home game. By the end of the first half, Liberty held a 2-1 lead against the Chargers. In the second half, the Chargers had some trouble keeping possession of the ball and ended up losing by a score of 5-1.
The Chargers loss didn’t come without some highlights from our team, however. Center-defender Luz Juarez-Mera scored a powerful free kick 30 yards from the net. On the defense, #12 Debani Rayo had made numerous saves against the Liberty team. Despite a shortage of players caused by a series of sprained ankles, concussions, and other injuries, the team is ready to come back from this defeat. “We work hard, train hard, and just have to try our hardest in the field,” says team captain Laura Barraza.
Clark’s next conference game will be held at SECTA on Monday, October 15, at 3:00 p.m.
